Continuing Education Program
Liaison with the Louisiana State University Medical Centers' Departments of Psychiatry in New Orleans and Shreveport

The New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute has made its facilities and faculty available to the L.S.U.M.C. Departments of Psychiatry in New Orleans and in Shreveport for a course in psychodynamic psychotherapy. The course consists of thirty-two class meetings over each academic year. Class meetings are held at the Institute and last one and three quarter hours. Class time is divided between the study of readings in the theoretical basis of psychodynamic psychotherapy, case presentations by residents, and discussions of the case material. Contact between the New Orleans and Shreveport groups is provided by a telephone conference hookup, to promote the free and lively discussion of issues and ideas raised by the readings and the case presentations.
