Anne Dean, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist. She is a psychoanalyst and is on the faculty of the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute. She is a Professor Emeritus at the University of New Orleans, a program evaluator and statistical consultant. She received her B.A. from Wellesley College, M.A. in Human Development from George Washington University and her Ph.D. in Psychology from the Catholic University of America. Dr. Dean is a graduate of the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute and is currently a student in the MPH program at the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

Dr. Dean is the author of books, chapters and articles on topics including the interactions of culture and psyche, affect and intellectual development, mental imagery, Piagetian theory, psychoanalytic theory, and ethnic conflict.
