Hufnagel,
Paul, MSW Born in Annapolis, Maryland, Mr. Hufnagel received his BA degree in Philosophy from St. Alphonsus College. He received his MSW from Tulane School of Social Work in 1975. He worked at Family Service of Greater New Orleans until 1989 where he was the Administrator of this agency's East Jefferson Office and also the Coordinator of the Employee Assistance Programs. He has a specialty in substance abuse treatment and has served as a Commissioner of Certification for the Employee Assistance Professionals Association and has contributed numerous articles to the field of employee assistance. He provides an ongoing internship for social work master level students that have an interest in this area of practice. In 1993 he was voted by NASW Social Worker of the Year, New Orleans Region. Since 1990 he has been an adjunct professor at the Tulane School of Social Work teaching advanced practice courses and involved in curriculum development. He has served on the school's Educational Policy Committee and assisted in its most recent successful accreditation. He is currently completing his doctorate at the School of Social Work where he is focusing on the involvement of teenage fathers with their children. Before joining the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute he was a candidate in the Tulane Psychoanalytic Program. He is a single parent with two daughters, Elizabeth, 21 and Ashely, 16. His hobbies are folk guitar, boat and half-hull model building and photography. One of his photographs has recently been selected by the International Library of Photography to appear in its upcoming edition Portal to the Past.
