Irwin, M.D. Dr. Irwin Marcus, one of the founding psychoanalysts of the Institute, has held all the offices in the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute including President from 1967-1971. He is currently an Emeritus Training and Supervising Analyst. He is a graduate of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and is certified in both adult and child analysis. Dr. Marcus is an Emeritus Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine and a founding director of the Tulane University Medical School Child and Adolescent Unit. He also is the founding chairman of the psychoanalytic child/adolescent program. Dr. Marcus holds the honors of Alpha Omega Alpha, the Irwin M. Marcus Lectureship at the Institute and is an Honorary Alumnus of both Tulane University and Louisiana State University. He is the author of three books, 75 journal articles, and one monograph.
