Christopher D. Meyers, M.D. is a native of New Orleans and has practiced psychiatry since 1973. He received his M.D. degree in 1967 from the L.S.U. School of Medicine in New Orleans. His internship was in internal medicine at the Yale-New Haven Hospital, and his psychiatry residency was at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He has been board-certified in psychiatry since 1975 and in geriatric psychiatry since 1991. He graduated from the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute in 1980 and joined its faculty in 1982. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He was the 1990-91 president of the Louisiana Psychiatric Medical Association and the 1993-95 president of the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Society. He serves on the clinical faculty of the L.S.U. New Orleans and Tulane University Schools of Medicine.   His special areas of interest are psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychopharmacology.
