Elsa Pool, Ph.D. received her MSW from Tulane University in 1972, Masters in Health Administration from the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 1979 and her Ph.D. from Tulane University in 1993. Dr. Pool has held teaching positions on the faculty of Tulane University and University of New Orleans and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Louisiana State University Medical School Department of Psychiatry. She has been affiliated with the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute since 1997. Her special areas of interest include psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis with children, adolescents and adults.
