Marilyn Skinner, M.D. was promoted to Training Analyst at the Spring meeting of the American Psychoanalytic Association in New York, in May 2000.

She is originally from Texas and received her medical and psychiatric training at Tulane Medical School. She was a candidate at the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute from 1979 to 1986. A faculty member of the Tulane Psychoanalytic Program since 1988, she has been on the faculty of the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute since 1992. She is on the Clinical Faculty at Tulane and LSU.

Dr. Skinner was the first woman president of the Louisiana Psychiatric Association. She is a past president of the New Orleans chapter of the National Women's Medical Association. She was the Medical Director of the Dissociative Disorders Program at River Oaks, 1989-92. She has been the medical staff president at several local hospitals. She is currently in full time private practice.
