Susan Sparkman received her M.D. degree from UTMB in 1975. After doing a Pediatric Internship at UT-Houston, she completed a Pediatric residency at Baylor, is Board Certified in Pediatrics, and a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. After 13 years in primary care in Baylor's Dept. of Community Medicine, Adult and Child/Adolescent Psychiatric training was completed at Baylor. She has been affiliated with the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute since 1995 as a candidate in adult and child/adolescent psychoanalysis. Interests include intensive psychodynamic psychotherapy and analysis in adults, children, and adolescents; and medical manifestations intersecting with Psychiatry.
